DTZ Kingston

website

Client: CDYWeb

Developed the look and feel of this website. The most challenging part of the project was designing pages that would be able to capture different types of real estate listings.DTZ-UGL had recently rebranded themselves so certain visual elements and colours had to be included.I kept this in mind when designing, and allowed those graphical elements, colours and the photography to be the focal point, while everything else was kept clean and neutral.

Partners in Mission Food Bank

website

Agency: Partners in Mission Food Bank

I was brought into this project by the web developer, to create a fresh and friendly look for the local food bank website. Soft greens help tone down the bold colours from the logos, which are used to draw attention to the main call to action buttons. I really enjoyed designing the buttons, and helping with the photo shoot.

Quinte District Association of Realtors

website

Client: CDYWeb

Having grown up in the Quinte area, I was quite proud to work on this website. Part of the initial challenge was discovering a colour palette that would not clash with the maroon logo. By keeping the main graphics a neutral beige and fairly dull, I think we created a website that is pleasing to the eye, with easy-to-read graphics to help point users in the right direction.

The biggest challenge with this site was working on the listing details pages, where we had to account for several possibilities of information to be displayed for several types of listings.

Santin Masonry

website

Agency: SmallWorld Marketing Group

A good example of a small business website which clearly conveys the nature of the industry. We used green throughout, as it is the corporate colour. I think the grey stone background and use of logos as icons in the navigation add a special touch. The portfolio page offers a neat and tidy way of showing the wide range of this company's projects.

South Huron County

website

Agency: SmallWorld Marketing Group

This project began as one website, knowing we would later develop the other two websites from the same framework. The key was, identifying which basic elements would be used throughout. I used different graphics to help divide the different types of information. Using a similar navigation bar, and buttons at the top to identify the websites in different colours means users always know which website they are on. The background photo can easily be changed by the client depending on the season or special events.

Mark Thompson Visual Artist

website

Agency: SmallWorld Marketing Group

It was such a pleasure to work on this website and see Mark's beautiful work. Mark works on graph paper so we included that as well as a soft background graphic. Each section contains thumbnails and an overlay with a large photo and captions. We decided on a very neutral background and used minimal text where possible to allow the photos to be the main focus.
